SARLAHI , June 23 - Five persons have been killed and two others critically injured in Sarlahi when lightening struck them on Tuesday morning.
According to the district police, the deceased are Rohit Mahato, 3, of Auraahi-7, Marani Devi Mahato, 35, of Madhuvanigoth-5, Raghubir Raut of Bhaktipur-5, and Bhukhal Raya, 65, and Budhani Devi of Chhatole-9.
Bhukhal and Budhani Devi were struck by the powerful bolt when they were grazing cattle along the river. Others were at their home when it hit them.
Likewise, a couple has been critically injured by the lightening. Patharu Raya and his wife Aanandi devi were preparing their meal when the lightening fell upon their house. They have been ferried to Mahargunj for treatment, police said.
Meanwhile, the police said that five cattle died when hit by lightening in Tribhuvannagar of the district.
